How to Play Tic Tac Toe
Tic Tac Toe (also known as Noughts and Crosses) is one of the world's most popular strategy games. It is deceptively simple: easy to learn, but hard to master.
The Setup
The game is played on a grid that's 3 squares by 3 squares.
- Player 1: Is usually "X" (Crosses).
- Player 2: Is usually "O" (Noughts).
The Goal
The goal is to be the first player to get three of your marks in a row. This can be achieved in three directions:
- Horizontally (Across a row)
- Vertically (Down a column)
- Diagonally (From corner to corner)
Step-by-Step Rules
1. Who goes first?
Traditionally, X goes first. In our online version, you (the player) always take the first turn.
2. Taking Turns
Players alternate placing their marks in empty squares. You cannot play in a square that is already occupied.
3. Winning
The game ends immediately when a player successfully places 3 marks in a row.
4. The Draw (Cat's Game)
If all 9 squares are filled and no player has 3 in a row, the game ends in a tie.
